If you are a church pastor or Christian leader seeking ways to better connect people through training in order to strengthen your body; if you want to assemble, mentor or train laborers for the harvest; if you seek to provide excellent theological and practical instruction for a changing and expanding Christian community, Moriah Institute of Christian Studies may be the answer. MORIAH’s staff and faculty is composed of focused individuals whose desire is to promote "Kingdom" work ahead of personal or self gain. We recognize the institute as God’s agent and tool for training Christians, not only to just reap the harvest, but also to prepare those new converts for their future service in Christ. Our vision is to help local church and community development when there is a desire to train and educate biblically and spiritually. Our goal is to provide integrity-based leadership and tools at Moriah Institute of Christian Studies to help develop and equip believers within the local church. As a Christian school, our vow is to honor God and give Him glory in every thought, attitude and action. We will be true to His principles in every endeavor and will work with churches and ministers with committed values to develop Christian relationships and Bible-based education. Thank you for considering the MORIAH opportunity! For more information, please read our Hosting a Seminar Site FAQ's. Dr. Marian B. Jones President & Founder Main Campus: 910-323-2970 Thomas T. Hale Executive Director Dr. Stephen Duke Vice-President of Academic Affairs Neal Vickers Vice-President of Academic Development Course Execution Moriah has designed its programs of study specifically for distance learning but with supplement instruction available to students throughout the United States and world. Combined with the student’s individual study, it is possible to add seminar-type instruction consisting of a total of nine hours and is typically conducted over a three-day period. The usual schedule is three hours of class on Thursday evening, three hours on Friday evening and three hours on Saturday morning, once each month. Bringing the course instructor to the local campus/church to teach a live seminar is the preferred method. Supplement instruction is also executed with the use of video tape or DVD. All courses conducted in the MORIAH network are reviewed and approved by the Moriah Academic Committee. In some cases, "Local Only" courses may be developed by resident teachers in the local campus and taught for course credit. Courses typically earn three (3) semester credit hours each. Some courses offer extended studies for additional credit and subject study. The textbook, final examination and other required course work is completed by each student outside of the seminar and returned to the local Dean of Students. All course work is sent to the national MORIAH office for grading and transcripting. Campus Testimony "Since enrollment I have maintained honor student status and have advanced to a Bachelor of Theology degree. Being so zealous and inspired, I obtained authorization to open a campus within our church. I became the Chancellor of Campus # 107 at Washington, North Carolina. The opportunity has now been offered to many pastors, ministers, and members of my own congregation that would probably never have advanced toward a degree. I am now completing my Master of Divinity degree and approaching the studies of a doctorate. My wife, son, and daughter's enrollment and enthusiasm have exceptionally encouraged me. In fact, my wife is now the dean of our campus! One step out in faith has brought such a great opportunity closer. The kindness and guidance of such excellent administrators at MORIAH has made the journey even more worthwhile. It has been a great journey, better than any cruise or expedition, a journey exploring the WORD OF GOD with some of the world's best instructors! Our Campus Motto is: "Where Leaders Gather To Be Dispersed." We unite each session as leaders to gain knowledge to go out as servants to help mankind." Bishop C.E. Tetterton, M.Div.
